Timor Leste International Convention Center
Situated within the existing Dili Marina, this visionary mixed-use development is anchored by the International Convention Center, strategically positioned to capture the breathtaking waterfront views. Spanning approximately 110,260 square meters, the Convention Center comprises a world-class Convention Hall, Meeting Rooms, Function Rooms, and a range of state-of-the-art facilities designed to attract international events and visitors from across the region. Complementing these facilities are public amenities, including retail and food-and-beverage offerings, creating a vibrant destination for both locals and visitors.
Envisioned as a catalyst for Timor-Leste’s urban transformation, the International Convention Center aspires to become both a civic landmark and a dynamic community hub. The architectural design reflects a seamless dialogue between tradition and innovation, bridging the existing marina with the nation’s progressive aspirations. Its bold massing establishes a commanding presence on Dili’s skyline. From a distance, the building reads as a sleek rectilinear form, while closer observation reveals the intricacy of its triangulated façade, generating fluid and organic expressions inspired by the movement of the adjacent waterfront waves. Enhancing its iconic character, the structure is crowned by a sculpted floating roof that tapers elegantly toward its edges, drawing inspiration from the geometry of Timor-Leste’s traditional boats.
